So in love in a handbag!
I am so involve with this vintage Chanel bag. I love the camel colour, that it is a bit used and totally adore the crochet stitchings on the edges! It is also beautiful how the camel leather is threaded through the chain. I need to look for something similar but not as pricy. I found it on riceandbeansvintage.com a go to place for some Chanel inspiration.
Happy weekend with Friday fringes!
I am wishing you a happy weekend with Friday fringes in brown Suede from H&M Premium Quality! So cool and unbelievably comfy!
A few of my favourites at Formex 2016 in Stockholm.
Today I went with a sweet friend to the exhibition Formex 2016 at Stockholmsmässan. It was great inspiration for meandmyprint.com and nice to see what we should be aiming for with the company. I of course also went looking around the exhibition for nice interior pieces. I found a lot of nice items at House Doctor, love the suede puff above, comes in different colours and the grey chest of drawers. My friend bought a huge carpet and I was so eager to do the same but I did not find the perfect one. I am looking to change the one we have under the dining table, so I will keep on looking. I might go back on Friday and maybe they have the perfect one then. A new favourite was the Danish brand AYTM. I love the rich green, grey and purple for fall and also the blush pink and green. They had beautiful lanterns but the pièce de resistance was their carpets! I love the drop shape! Would be great to put several different sizes and colours and sort of create your own flower as well as putting one in that little corner you don not know what do do with (that I gave you inspiration for on Monday). I also fell in love with their leather cushions, I want one in every colour.
Loving my green garden!
After two weeks of dreadful weather the summer is back for a while. One of the perks with having a home office is that you can enjoy the garden when the weather allows it. I love having my coffee break in our new lounge sofa from Bauhaus. Another favourite feature are our Bloom pots. I have told you about them before but they are worth mentioning again. We bought them 2006, 10 years ago!!! They are still stunning features in our garden, huge pots during the day and they light upp the garden and house at night. For sure one of the best buys we have ever done. So different and absolutely my style! This year we also invested in a new dining area. Hopefully we will have a few more lovely dinners there before the autumn comes. I am very happy with the white, clean designed, aluminium from Formlagret.
Thought I would start the week with some interior inspo.
You know that little corner in your house you just don’t know what to do with? Well here is my idea. Choose a small table, I got this from Rusta at a bargain price, only 10 euros, and it comes in several colours. Take some nice magazines and stack them, place a favourite urn on top. Choose a favourite print or painting, this one is a favourite from my own store meandmyprint.com. Pick out a favourite plant and pot. At the moment I am obsessed with cactuses, so easy to handle, great to look at and lasts a lifetime. The pot is from Svenskt Tenn and the candle holders Kin are from Skultuna.
Yes I have found the perfect pair of “home” pants! Only work at the home office today so I have worn my new favourites all day. However I will put on something fancier in a few minutes as we are heading out for Friday dinner with the family and my mother. I wish you a fabulous weekend! (by the way you can buy the same sweatpants here)
Seriously the weather in Stockholm is just dreadful!! Rain, rain and more rain and 14 degrees! So guess if I wish for a throw back to two weeks ago when we had this!? Such a stunning vacation, with the sun, sea, heat and our amazing yacht Sweet Dreams. Oooohhhhh we want to go back! Greece we miss you!
Yesterday we had a little crayfish party with my parents-in-law. If there is anything good with Swedish summer almost ending it is that it is time for crayfish. Both my husband and i adore them and the children are slowly learning to appreciate those delicious delights. I also made a traditional Västerbotten pie so the evening was complete when we brought out the schnapps! Hopefully we will have one or two more crayfish parties before the season ends.
Love of the week!
My love of the week are these stunning blush pink leather sneakers from COS. Yesterday I met up with my sweet friend Ulrika. We had lunch and went on a little shopping run. We both fell in love with these super cute, yet elegant and super comfortable leather sneakers and Ulrika bought a pair. COS over all has a great range for the fall so if you love their clean, elegant and cool designs head over there asap.
Sightseeing in my hometown.
Sightseeing in my hometown is so great, one of many perks having friends visiting. It has ben a full on few days since we came home from Greece. On Tuesday morning our friends Ullis and Micke came visiting with their two daughters. It is a cold August in Stockholm but we had a two lovely days in the city. The children loved going to Skansen, seeing the four new baby bears, seals, elks, baby pigs etc. and eating waffles and spun sugar. Ullis and I also managed some shopping and girl talk. I bought the same bomber jacket that she is wearing, from H&M (it comes in several colours) and we bought a new school bag for Ella, still can’t believe she is 13 but the new bag goes so well with her more grownup style.
A selection of Friday cravings.
Being in the 35 degree heat for three weeks funnily enough gets me craving for something other on my feet than flipflops. It will be pretty nice going back home and gear up for autumn. I served into ZARA and found a lovely selection of shoes for all occasions this autumn. Heavy or light, shiny or leather. I love the last glittery ones. They are a copy of the almost white satin boots I wore at my wedding. So comfortable that I could dance all night, like a second skin. I would love to wear these at all the parties this autumn and winter.
Our summer vacation is almost over.
We are steering Sweet Dreams to Corfu and will leave her there on Sunday and catch our flight home to Stockholm. Three amazing weeks in Greece. It is so wonderful to come here year after year. We know our favourite places and then we always add new adventures. The children get better and better at handling the boat and we enjoy it more and more every year.
Yesterday we had a night stop at one of our favourite spots yet again, the island of Paxos and the little sweet town of Gaios. The harbour is absolutely stunning and there are great cafés and restaurants and amazing little shops. Not only with the normal souvenirs but som nice designer stuff as well. The closeness to Italy draws a lot of cruise ships so the money come via boat.
We had a lovely evening on the town, drinks at a cute bar and the soccer game AIK-Panathenaikos was on. My Hannes’ favourite Swedish team is AIK (mine as well). We have several friends involved with Panathenaikos in Athens so it is close to our hearts as well. PAO won 2-0 and we watched the game at an other favourite place George’s Corner restaurant, they serve great gyros. We had an evening full of Greeks cheering for their team and watching us curiously when we screamed every time AIK was close to scoring.
Sailing holiday to us is a family affair!
Yesterday we had an amazing sailing day! Slinging at a maximum of 8,2 knots with the greatest team ever. The kids are getting great at the helm as well as handling all the manoeuvres of tacking. The more the boat tilts the happier they are! I am so happy that the children have grown up with sailing, it is in their blood and something they can do all their lives. I remember them being babies attached in chairs to the railing, Philip and I kept feeding them biscuits to keep them occupied while we sailed. We had the most amazing day!
Great love of white and black.
When I was in Athens I bought a new black and white bikini from Sugarfree. They always have nice swim wear and I do try to pass by their shop in Glyfada overtime I am in town. This one has lovely white stitchings round the edges and also com in white with black stitchings. In hind sight I feel I should have bough one of those as well. They also have a great webshop.
Our summer adventure is starting its last week.
This is our family at its best, on the boat, in Greece. We love every minute of it, be it the empty wide blue sea, the paradise bays or the lovely little harbours we enter to fill up on food and water. We stay out three nights and then choose a lovely place for one night, go to restaurants and have a lovely waffle or other sweet coffee date. Then we head out to sea again. Last night we were in Nidri on Lefkada. I snapped these pictures this morning as we set out on another adventure. I was at the helm and Philip and the children jumped off the boat at sea, 112 meters deep. So lovely, amazing and a true summer adventure. Just think of all the wild life beneath us! Happy weekend!
I am loving brilliant daily design elements. Those everyday items made brilliant. Like this water bottle at our café of the day, Solymar in Nidri, on the island of Lefkada, Greece. The bottle is beautiful and the text simply brilliant. I love when you make the ordinary daily items something special. The text “THIS IS WATER” and then the brilliant “the most refreshing element” and the name of the restaurant. I would love to bring a bottle home as a souvenir.
My amazing children are having an evening dip in paradise! After a few days of excursion we are back in our favourite bay. This is really paradise. We all have lovely evening dips and I just love to snap a shot of the children when they don’t know it. They are so happy being here in the sun and sea heaven. Hope you all are having a wonderful week! Lots of love from Greece!
Today’s travel tip. I love the island of Lefkas and it is a pleasure to give som travel tips. If you are in the area you have to visit Sívota and their pretty little family café Sívota Bakery Café. They serve the most delicious Caesar salad and hav lovely waffles and american pancakes. A real treat is also their Egg’s Benedict breakfast.
Great summer nails! I get a lot of questions about my nail polish and even though I try different colours I always end up using this Essie colour again. Ballet Slippers is a great colour that gives a natural, not too painted look. I put on a base coat and then two layers and finally a transparent top coat. I love the colour and that you still see the genuine nail underneath. I use it all year round but it is even nicer summer time with a little bit of colour.
We found a heavenly place! Gidaki beach on Ithaca can only be reached by boat, we anchored in the bay, you can see Sweet Dreams in the back on some of the pictures. You can also take a boat taxi from the town of Vahti on the island. It was absolutely heavenly – a real paradise, so little people and water to die for. We spent a few heavenly hours on the beach and then were on our way again. Unfortunately the bay is not good for staying over night, the winds come in the afternoon and you have no shelter. In the evening and morning huge ferry boats pass and you lay in bed working about your mooring. But we really found a slice of paradise!
I love my new silver straw bag! On the islands you can find pretty stores with some great products. I especially recommend Vahti on Ithaca and the little town port of Paxoi, a small island between Corfu and Lefkas. I found this straw bag on Ithaca, it will jon me on many vacation trips! Perfect for towels and the little picnic. Sunglasses from Tom Ford.
Sailing in the Ionian Sea is our favourite vacation. Especially sailing round the islands of Corfu, Lefkas, Ithaca and Meganisi. The crystal clear waters of the bays in Meganisi is to die for. You get som really good winds in the afternoon especially between Meganisi and Ithaca, yesterday we had 10 m/s and we loved it. Going between the islands you feel, you are, totally alone. Just us and the deep sea. We often stop for a skinny dip, such an amazing feeling seeing no boats and having hundreds of meters of sea beneath you. We throw a line and just hang after the boat. Total freedom! You can easily rent boats on Lefkada, we have done it several times although prefer having the luxury of our own boat like this year.
My love of the summer so far are these super comfy leather strap sandals from Mango. I love the chunky straps and the perfect nude colour. Simple and clean is all you need. I also got them on the sale at 50% off which makes a girl even happier!
I definitely put Balux the House Project on my Glyfada travel tip guide. We go here every time we are in Glyfada and when we lived here it was our no. 1 place for a weekend coffee or lunch and it even doubled as an office during the week. Nice food, great environment. They also have an amazing play area for the little ones, Play station area for the bigger kids and then of course the sun beds and the sea for everyone. Yesterday I had the Bio salad and a Banana milkshake. Love this place and you will too!
We have arrived in Greece and Glyfada. First we are staying here, with friends, for a few days then driving up to Lefkada to join the children and my parents-in-law on the boat. Yesterday we went to Island a paradise club and restaurant by the seaside. Such a beautiful place with great food and music. They had a wedding on one of their sections so we even got a stunning display of fire works. Amazing evening.
My love of the week are these suede sandals from H&M Premium Quality! Such a perfect pair of summer heels. Not too high but giving you enough elevation to make the legs look good. Very inspired by the sell out model in recent years from Isabel Marant. It is great that labels like H&M give the everyday woman the chance to have a touch of the designer labels’ flair.
Three fav shorts on sale just in time for summer vacation. Love the heart patterned denim ones from One teaspoon and the more classic cut offs from Hunkydory. So soft and perfect relax shorts are the striped ones from Scotch & Soda.
When ask my children what they want for dinner they scream – “Can we have those delicious salmon nuggets!! Please!!!” So I thought I would share the recipe with you! Cut the fresh salmon into dice, app. 2x3cm. Roll them in a mix of sesame seeds and bread crumbs. Give them a nice golden colour in the frying pan and finish them off for 8-10 minutes in the oven, 150 degrees. Choose your favourite vegetables and cut them into sticks. We usually have carrots, cucumber, asparagus and snap peas. Make a dip sauce mixing soya sauce, honey and lime juice. For the children I boil rice to serve with the nuggets but I love just eating the nuggets with vegetables dipped in the sauce. It is a great way to get children to eat fish and they have so much fun with the chop sticks! (here is the recipe in Swedish)
Oh my cactus, hahaha! I found these amazing brass cactus candle holders at the H&M Home sale! Are they not stunning? I also love this brass monkey and this brass palm tree. The brass looks great on my recycled timber table. Vase from Klong.
I am loving lazy mornings at the moment! Just a peek of the sun waking you up and staying in bed a little longer. The vacation mood is setting in even though we have another week to go before take off.
